Songs were meant for dancing.

We should write more letters,
and make more mixed CDs,
and ride our bikes around the block.

We should wave at our neighbors
and talk to our neighbors
and bake cookies for our neighbors and then go talk with them some more.

We should smell flowers on our walk to work,
or to the bus,
or to class,
or to get the mail.

We should dance to the song on our ipod,
when everyone is watching,
because songs weren’t meant for sitting still.

We should smile at everyone who’s watching,
because maybe they wish they were dancing too.

We should remember how to enjoy
the small things,
and remember that the small things
aren’t really that small at all.
