Keep running.

I hear the voice, the voice of the One I love.
He’s calling my name. Come up higher, my beloved, and leave this world behind.
I am running, running after You.
You’ve become my soul’s delight. Here with You, I find my life.

God is calling you. You are his beloved. He wants you to find him.

Do you believe this? Will you believe this? Will you choose to accept this fervently, with every part of who you are?

Forget what you are leaving behind — security, comfort in the “I-know,” the wanting, the heart-aching, the life without purpose. Forget those things. Pick up your feet. Run.

Run after him with all of you are. Run faster, harder, longer, farther. And keep on running. When you feel like you don’t have more to give, give more than you had before. Run into the arms of the One who will hold you. Run into the will of the One who knows.

And when you are running, delight in him. Delight when the wind is at your back and your goal is obvious. Delight when running is hard and you’re not even sure you want to run anymore.

And when you delight, remember there is no better place you could be than running. There is no better goal, no better God to run to, no better life to be living, and no better race to be running.

It’s hard. He didn’t say it would be easy. He warned you about the cross. He told you about the mocking and discouraging words. He said there would be hills and rocky roads and thunderstorms in the middle of your race.

But keep going. Run. Run after him with everything that you are.

Only then will you find life.

  1. “…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…” Hebrews 12:1-2

I want to live running after him.
